RATHA YATRA (Hinduism) - the Festival of Chariots. Ratha Yatra is celebrated around the world, but the most famous and largest celebrations take place in Puri, India. The celebrations take place at the Jagannath Temple in Puri. A festival will be held in Cardiff on the 12th August to celebrate. |

The events of Hajj (Islam) - Pilgrimage to Makkah. This is the 5th pillar of Islam. Every Muslim must do the Hajj once in their life if they can afford it and if their health allows it. |

Eid-al-Adha (Islam) - Eid al-Adha is the latter of the two official holidays which are celebrated within Islam (the other being Eid al-Fitr). It honours the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ismail (Ishmael) as an act of obedience to Allah's command. The festival also marks the end of the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. Many Muslims make a special effort to wear new clothes, attend a prayer service in a mosque and listen to a sermon. |
